Donation to FCH from World Bank

Good news from Freetown! The following post appeared recently on the Freetown Cheshire Home Facebook Page:

*World Bank Sierra Leone Office Donates Toyota Prado Vehicle to the Freetown Cheshire Home."

On Thursday, 11 May 2017 @ 10.00am, the Country Director of the World Bank Sierra Leone, Mr. Parminder P.S Brar invited three recipients to the new World Bank office at Spur Road to receive generous donations of vehicles. For Freetown Cheshire Home, it followed an application made by the Chairman of the Freetown Cheshire Home, Dr Abs Dumbuya some three months earlier.

The presentation was attended by the British High Commissioner, staff of World Bank representatives and the press. Responding to the donation on behalf of the Freetown Cheshire Home, Abs thanked the World Bank for the timely donation of the vehicle which will help ferry some of the residents to school. He noted some of the successes made since the new management committee took over the running of the home some 18 months ago. However, he also highlighted some of the challenges which the team is addressing.

Below is a picture of the vehicle.
