Exodus chapter 20 verse 12

"Honour your father and mother, so that you may live long in the land the Lord your God has given you."

Leviticus chapter 20 verse 9

“Anyone who curses their mother and father shall be put to death. Because they have cursed their father or mother, their blood will be on their own head.”

 

Prayer & Reflection

Lord, I thank you that You are the Father God. I thank you that You are the best example of parenthood anywhere out there.
I pray that as we slowly discover and unveil more dynamics with our parents, in whatever form that may be, I pray we put respect and honour in the heart of that - even if that respect means putting a distance between each other, because that's what's best for us.
Thank you that You are there in the midst of any relationship we have: to comfort us, to love us, to care for us as our true Father in Heaven.
